Head spinning, arms shaking, heavy panting. The golden hedgehog stared down at the falling enemy in front of him, the knock to his head before causing him to feel abit dizzy. He slowly glanced up at his friends that were up on a high ledge, cheering for him, not seeing his fatigue and the danger he was in. He shakily lifted his hand, forming it into a small thumbs up before he limply fell towards the forest below, the golden auro leaving him as the emeralds scattered in every direction. He he heard his friends cry out for him as he smacked hard against a tree, spinning him onto his back as he landed on a grassy hill, before he rolled down to a sunny spot in the middle of the forest, eyes closed and breathing quiet.
Hearing grass rustle not far off, a black dragon woke from his nap in a nearby tree. His bright green eyes were wide as he lifted his head, looking down to see what had made the noise. He cocked his head slightly with curiosity. Below him was a blue figure, though he couldn't make out exactly what it was. His eyes narrowed slightly and he cautiously climbed out of the tree, making sure he was silent. Upon closer inspection of the blue thing that had awoken him, he realized he was beaten up and, did not appear to be awake. The dragon made a quiet growling sound in his throat as he sniffed the mysterious being, nudging him slightly before backing up.
The being didn't move. He repeated this about three more times before he was certain that this creature wasn't going to harm him. In fact, he seemed a bit too wounded himself to do any damage. For a moment, the dragon circled the creature, then decided it best to move him out of the suns rays. He grabbed Sonic's sneaker and dragged him underneath the tree had had been napping in, and then climbed up the tree once again, still not completely sure if he could trust this intruder. He laid down on a branch and just stared at him, waiting for it to move.

It took a whole 3 days until the blue hedgehog started to stirr, a faint groan leaving his lips as his hand twitched.
"T..Tails..." he muttered quietly, only half conscious. The bleeding wound on his head had been licked clean by the dragon on the second day, so he didn't suffer from infection. His ears twitched abit, hearing the birds as he mumbled groggily, "S..stupid..alarm clock..." he reached a hand to the side, limply letting it drop where his alarm clock usually was but instead it landed on a pile of fish. His hand quickly retracted against the sloshy sound, "Urg..! Wh..wha..?" he slowly sat up, a hand on his head as he shook it abit, "Where...?"
Perched in the tree, the dragons ears perked up, his eyes fixed on the blue figure. Still, remaining cautious about this new being under his tree, he studied him from afar, a soft purr coming from his throat. His eyes were slit like a cats as he looked upon him, and he shifted a little on the tree branch that held him, tail dangling off the side and, his wings raised slightly.
Sonic looked at the pile of fish, a hand still on his head.
"Fish...?" he blinked, looking around slowly. His ears twitched slightly upwards when he heard the quiet purr. He looked up quickly, their green eyes meeting, one nervous the other curious.
"A...D-Dragon..?!" he got to his feet quickly but tumbled back onto his rear with a grunt, leg still weak. But he ignored it, staring at the dragon. In his normal state he wouldn't be so frightened, but since his legs could barely work he knew he was at the creatures mercy. His legs shook a little in strain, fingers digging into the ground as his ears pinned against his skull.
The dragon looked at Sonic's fumbling, and seemed calm as he looked at him. His wings slowly lowered, and his eyes narrowed a bit, his curiosity grew every second he studied this blue creature, but he still had to be sure he was friendly. Seeing that Sonic was too injured to make any sudden moves on him, he slowly climbed down the tree trunk, an unsure growl coming from him as he looked into Sonic's eyes. It seemed to Sonic as if he were the one trying to deem weather or not he was the trust worthy one.
"H-Hi..?" Sonic said, unsure if the creature could even understand him. He grunted as a pain ran up his leg, gripping it as he shut his eyes tight, the sore leg shaking more.
Looking at Sonic's leg the dragon studied the wounds for a moment before looking back the creature. His head cocked sideways a little, and he sensed that this being before him was no threat. He did not have the same blood thirsty look in his eyes that had greeted the dragon more times then he'd wished to recall. A soft purr came from the dragon and he slowly and cautiously approached, picking up a fish from the pile. He walked slowly, his tail swishing as he stopped mere inches away from Sonic. He let the fish from his mouth fall to the ground, and without getting too close he nudged it closer to the scared blue thing in front of him. He took a step back, back arched a bit like a cat who was ready to defend himself if need be. He may have deemed this creature as no threat, but he was not about to let his guard down in case his senses were wrong.

Sonic glanced at the fish then at the dragon, the sharp pains in his leg slowly fading as the shaking stopped. Cautiously he got to hs knees, glancing at the fish again as he picked it up by the tail, looking at it dangle.
"Umm...I prefer cooked fish, bud..." but seeing he only got a curious few blinks from the dragon made him sigh, "Do I HAVE to..?"
The dragon looked at him, his eyes still narrowed. All he gave Sonic was a low growl in response. He crouched a bit, looking at the fish and then at Sonic again.
The hedgehog shuddered a little as he bit into the slimy fish and pulled back, swallowing as he shuddered again, "Blerg.." he groaned with half closed eyes, holding back the urge to puke.
The dragons green eyes seemed to soften, his pupils more round and less cat like. He cocked his head to the side, ears perked forward. He made a small purring sound, opening his mouth a bit as he did so, almost as if he were trying to talk, perhaps asking how the fish was.
"Y-Yummy.." Sonic muttered, trying to sound happy as he gave a half cocked smile at the dragon.
The dragon remained crouched for a moment, and then abruptly sat up. His eyes were big and his ears went forward. He folded his wings back and swished his tail, letting out another purr.
The hedgehog blinked as he watched the dragon try to copy the smirk.
"Hmm...Toothless are ya? Thats strange"
As the Sonic placed the rest of the fish down on the ground the dragon lowered his head. To Sonic's surprise, teeth suddenly appeared in the dragons mouth as he scooped up the fish and gobbled it down.
"Whoa!" he flinched but smirked, "Your full of surprises, aren't you?" He slowly got to his feet, gripping the tree beside him for support.
The dragon looked at him, and stood up. He took a step back from him, eyes narrowing slightly.
"C-Calm down there. I'm j-just trying to get my balance" he smiled reassuringly as he slowly let go of the tree, taking a step but grunted as he fell forward.
With a swift movement, the dragon took a step forward, catching the startled hedgehog with his head. He slowly lowered his head down, helping the blue thing sit by the tree nearest to him. Stepping back again, the dragon crouched a bit, staring at Sonic with slit eyes.
He leaned against the tree again.
"Th-thanks" after a little silence he took a small step towards the dragon curiously, holding out his, tattered and torn, gloved hand to him. He noticed the creatures cautiousness as he smiled a little.
"Its alright, big guy. Im a friend"
Still not fully convinced, the dragon gave a low growl, raising his wings a little.
Sonic flinched a little bit, fingers curling a little.
"H-Hey..! Its okay..." He thought for a moment before looking away, keeping his hand held out.
With Sonic's eyes off of him, the dragon seemed to calm down. He looked at the hand in front of his face, his wings lowering a little. He slowly moved forward just enough to press his face against Sonic's hand, breathing slowly, eyes closed.

The hedgehog opened his eyes a little, slowly glancing at the reptile.
"Whoa..."
Opening his eyes, the dragon backed off a little. His eyes went a little narrow again before he snorted, shaking his head a little. He turned and walked a little ways away, breathing a mix of fire and lightning into the ground, curling up.
Sonic watched his new friend with intrest, slowly limping forward and sitting on a rock to watch him.
He noticed his one tail fin as he eyed his tail sadly.
"You can't fly, can you..?" his question was answered when he saw the dragon watch a bird fly off in envy.
The dragon looked at Sonic, a soft growl coming from him as he laid his head down, ears back. The look on his face said it all. He was both annoyed and saddened that he could no longer fly.
"Hmmm..." placing two fingers on his chin in thought he racked his brain for a solution. He had to help this creature. The dragon had helped him after all.
"Maybe...Maybe my friend Tails could help. Wanna tag along?" he asked the creature with a kind smile.
Cocking his head to the side a little, the dragons ears perked up. He made a purring sound in response as he stood. Knowing that the creature meant him no harm, he decided he could give him his trust. He walked over to the hedgehog, crouching beside him and letting his wings fall to the ground. He wanted the injured hedgehog to get on his back, knowing that he couldn't do it on his own right now.
Hesitantly he climbed onto the dragon between his neck and back.
"Hmm...You need a name. I know! Toothless" he smiled, "You like that?"
With a soft purr Toothless folded his wings back and looks at Sonic giving a loud happy roar in response.
The hedgehog gave the now named dragon a gentle scratch on the snout, laughing softly.
"Alright then. Toothless it is. Come on. Lets find a high place so I can see where we are"
Toothless seemed to understand, and with a slight nod in response he ran to the nearest hilltop.
"Whoa!" Sonic latched onto Toothless' neck from the sudden dash forward. He laughed and gently scratched the side of his neck, "Give me a warning next time, bud"
Toothless purred in response and soon they were at the top of a cliff. Once at the tip, Toothless roared spreading his wings out. He shook a little and then folded his wings back, looking out of the corner of his eye at Sonic.

Sonic held a hand over his eyes as shade as he looked around.
"Trees...Trees...Trees...More Trees...Oh! There! A way out!" he pointed for the dragon to see.
Toothless looked forward and nodded before opening his wings. He made sure Sonic was holding on before he made a bit of a stumble and glided down the hill. Gliding was a bit risky without his other fin but he managed to keep the ride down feeling like a few bumps in the road. He stumbled a bit upon landing, but then took off running out of the forest.
The hedgehog closed his eyes, feeling the wind against his face as he smiled. Once on the ground he held onto his neck again, the pain in his leg coming back as he tucked it up a little more.
Even though he couldn't fly, Toothless still managed a pretty fast running speed. Not as fast as Sonic, of course, but still decent. Toothless managed to get to the edge of the forest, but stopped once there. He seemed hesitant to move beyond the forest border, and gave a nervous growl.
Slightly hunched forward from the pain in his leg he gently reached over, rubbing beside the dragon's ear.
"Its alright, bud. No one will hurt ya. I promise. My friend should be out over there in that direction" he pointed, "You don't have to go anywhere near the town" he smiled shakily.
Toothless still seemed nervous, but he made a small growl and ran out of the forest.
Sonic's grip faultered as he suddenly fell flat against the dragon, slipping off his back and rolling across the ground.
Toothless stopped and let out a worried growl, he turned on a dime and ran back to Sonic quickly, slowing only when he was by his side.
His eyes scanned the hedgehog, taking in his quick panting and trembling body.
"Uhh..." Sonic tried to get up but could barely move.
Giving a worried growl Toothless nudged him lightly.
"P..Please...g..go..get my..f-friend...h-he's th-that....way..." he dragged his hand to the direction since he could barely lift it.
Toothless looked to where he was pointing, then looked back at Sonic, he gave another growl, almost a whimper this time.
His head pounded as he forced his hand up, putting it against Toothless' dry, scaley nose, forcing a shaky smile.
Looking deep into his eyes, Toothless grunted. He waited for Sonic to lower his hand, and then his eyes slit as he ran towards the town quickly.
Watching the nightfury run away, Sonic drifted off into unconsciousness slowly, still shaking.

Toothless ran as fast as he could in the direction Sonic had said to go. He only stopped, when he found the town. It was then he realized he didn't know what he was looking for. He hid behind some trees, looking nervous as he sniffed the air, his eyes darting from place to place as he looked for a way through.
He suddenly caught the scent of someone with the lingering scent of his friend. It was the only lead he had right now. He followed it stealthily until he saw a fox walking into a house at the boarder of the town. He started to close the door.
Toothless quickly bolted for the door, managing to stop it from closing. He gave a tiny roar. He was scared, and needed to help his friend.
Tails lept back quickly, dropping his groceries as his eyes widen.
"Ahh!"
Making a few whimpering noises Toothless ran up too the fox, giving a worried growl and nudging him slightly, showing he meant no harm, but was trying desperately to get his full attention.
His ears perked forward a little, sensing the dragons urgency.
"Wh-what is it..?" he felt a little silly talking to the creature but he regretted the feeling when he saw that Toothless understood.
Toothless gave another small roar, and ran out the door, looking abck at the fox he roared again and moved his head slightly forward, as if trying to get him to follow.
"O-Okay then..!" Tails flew out after him, shutting the door behind them.
Running quickly once again, Toothless wasted no time in leading Tails to his fallen friend, who was still where he had left him.
"S-Sonic!" Tails ran over quickly, skidding to his knees by the hedgehog. His eyes were closed and his breathing was ragged. The bump on his head must of caused it. The fox held Sonic's head in his hands, "Sonic! Can you hear me?!" When he got no response he quickly tried to pick his friend up but was much to small. He started crying but felt Toothless nudge his arm.
"H-Huh..?"
Toothless made a small purr and crouched down slowly, letting his wing fall. He wanted Tails to put Sonic on his back.
Tails gently grabbed Sonic under his arms, struggling to lift him onto the dragon's back. He slowly managed as he hesitantly climbed on behind him to make sure he didn't fall off.
"C-Can you take us back home?"
Toothless grunted a response and made sure Tails had grip before running quickly back to the foxes house.

On arrival to the house, Tails jumped off the shut the door, dragging Sonic to the couch and, with great struggle, lifted him up onto it.
Toothless sat near the couch, purring worriedly for his fallen friend.
Tails panted as he ran to the upstairs bathroom to get his medical kit. He returned just as fast, almost tumbling down the stairs on his way back.
Looking curiously at the kit, Toothless backed off slightly, not knowing what it was.
Not noticing the nightfury's discomfort, Tails knelt by the couch, opening the kit as he pulled out bandages and disinfectant as well as a few other things.
Toothless crouched, a quiet growl emitting from his throat. He was nervous about whatever Tails was going to do to his new friend.
"I-Im helping him!" Tails whimpered, his hands held in front of him defensivly.
Toothless saw the look in the worried foxes eyes and decided to sit by and trust him. He still watched him, as he was cautious about everything he met.
He hesitantly went back to working on Sonic's wounds. He gave a sigh of releif.
"Its not that bad. I can fix this easy"
Toothless kept looking at him, but seemed to perk his ear forward a bit.
Soon Sonic's head was bandaged and the torn gloves were replaced with gauze covered in disinfectant for all the scratches. His waist and legs were bandaged too.
"Wow..You really beat yourself up this time"
With a look of confusion, Toothless let out a curious growl. This time? What did the fox mean by that?
Tails looked at him with curious eyes.
"Hmm?"
Toothless gestured with his nose to the bandages, letting out a purr.
"He'll be okay" the fox smiled and hesitantly reached out to pet the nightfury's nose.
With a little snort, Toothless let him touch his nose. This creature also proved himself to be trustworthy, as he had not threatened him once.
"I'll make something for him to eat for when he wakes up. Keep an eye on him for me, will you?" the fox smiled, gently rubbing Toothless' snout before standing and going to the kitchen.
Purring in response, Toothless curled up on the floor beside the couch, keeping his head up as he watched over Sonic.

After about 10 minutes or so, Tails came into the room with some chillidogs for Sonic and a steak for the dragon since he assumed he ate meat.
Toothless sniffed at the steak but pushed it away with a snort.
"Huh? Well what DO you eat?" he thought for a minute then remembered Sonic's hands had smelt a little like fish while he was bandaging them, "Fish?"
Toothless looked at the fox then, his ears perked up and his eyes big. He licked his lips and let out a purr.
He giggled and took the meat away, bringing back a plate of 3 crummed fish.
Toothless looked at the fish, and his teeth suddenly appeared again as he started to gobble them down.
Tails giggled again and he gently scratched behind the dragon's ear.
Toothless just kept on gobbling down the fish, his tail swishing back and fourth.
Sonic gave a soft groan as he started to stir from his slumber.
His head raising immediately, Toothless looked at Sonic where he lay on the couch. He stood up, approaching Sonic and nudging him gently with a small growl.
The hedgehog gave a small chuckle and gently put a hand on his snout.
"H-Hey bud..." he said sleepily, still only half awake.
Toothless purred moving his mouth as he did so, almost like he had said hello. He cocked his head to the side.
He sat up slowly, using the dragon's muzzle for support.
"I made you some chillidogs, Sonic" Tails smiled as he motioned to the plate beside the couch.
"Champion!" he smiled and gave him a thumbs up, hungrily eating one.
Toothless sat by the couch, watching the hedgehog eat his food. He didn't know how this food was better then fish.
Soon they were all gone, and Sonic was licking the bits of chilli off his fingers.
"Mmmm~"
Cocking his head slightly to the left, Toothless gave a small growl, curling his tail.
Tails took the plate to the kitchen to clean up as Sonic sat up with his feet on the ground. He noticed abit of the crummed fish left and chucked it over to him.
"There ya go, bud"
Toothless wagged his tail, almost dog like as he took the fish and gobbled it down in the blink of an eye. He licked his lips once done and looked back at Sonic with big grateful eyes and a purr.
"Hehe~ You know, you remind me of my old dog Muttski." Sonic smiled and petted the dragon's head gently, "He used to love it when I did this" he grinned and scratched under Toothless' chin.
Eyes widening slightly, Toothless stiffened for a moment as he sat, then suddenly fell over with a happy growl, his back leg moving slightly.
Both the Anthros laughed at the big reptiles reaction.
"Guess you love it too!" Sonic chuckled and ran a hand over his new friends head.
"Oh! I almost forgot! Tails, buddy, It seems Toothless has-""Toothless?""Yeah thats what I named him. Anyway! It seems he's hurt his tail fin and needs it to fly. Think you could help him?"
The fox walked over to examine the dragon's tail, kneeling down as he gently touched the remaining fin.
Toothless looked at the fox as he felt his tail fin being moved, and cocked his head with a soft growl.
Slowly Tails opened and closed it, looking at the folds and positions it could do.
"Hmmm...I could try. But I can't say I've done something like this before"
Sonic gave him a thumbs up and a wink.
"You can do it, buddy"
Toothless laid his head down with a purr, his ears forward.
Tails jogged to his lab to get his sketch book and a few tools to measure his fin properly. Noticing Toothless' nervousness, Sonic gently petted his head.
"Its alright, Tooth. He's just measuring your tail. It'll help. Promise"
Toothless looked up at Sonic, seeming skeptical, but he bowed his head in understanding regardless. Sonic hadn't endangered him so far and did not seem likely too.

The little scientist measured the nightfury's tail fin accuratly and recorded them in his little note book before running back to his lab to start brainstorming some ideas.
Curious about the fox, Toothless stood up and quietly followed him. He saw Tails working at his desk, and crept over, sitting down and looking over his shoulder at the drawings, his eyes following the movements of his pencil.
He sketched out a blueprint of how he'd design the new tail fin. It would connect to his remaining one in such a way that it would move simultaneously with the artificial one.
Toothless perked his ears forward as he looked at the page.
Tails giggled and pet his head gently, showing him the sketch.
"This look okay to you?"
Toothless looked at the page and gave a growl of approval, with a slight wag of his tail.
The fox's eyes lit up with curiosity, putting the sketch back down.
"Your so smart"
Seeming to like the compliment Toothless sat up straight with a purr.
He giggled and took his blueprints to his work table.
Toothless watched him from the doorway, seeming interested.
"Hey Tooth, come ere!" Sonic called, holding a tennis ball.
Ears perking up, Toothless turned his head to look at Sonic, who was back in the living room. He walked over, seeming curious about the ball in Sonic's hand. He sniffed at it, having never seen one before he didn't know what to make of it.
He smiled and gently tossed it.
"Go get it, boy!" he smiled.
Toothless watched as the ball bounced across the floor and gave a small playful roar as he jumped after it.
Sonic watched with a smile, laying back on the couch.
His tail swishing back and fourth, Toothless seemed very amused with the little green ball, pushing it from one paw to the other he growled playfully and rolled it across the room, running after it again, accidentally knocking over a few things with his tail as he was very big in comparison to the living room.
"You two had better not be playing in the house!" Tails called from the other room as Sonic stiffened.
"Uhhh...Pft! Of course not!" he chuckled nervously and stood, zipping around as he picked everything up that had been knocked over, running to Toothless and taking the ball, "Lets play in the backyard, bud" he smiled and jogged to the back door, opening it to let Toothless out first.
Toothless ran outside quickly, knowing he'd get to play faster.
Sonic grinned and hurled the ball out into the wide back yard.
With an excited roar the nightfury jumped after it, bounding happily.
The hedgehog laughed and jumped from the porch to the ground, missing the stairs.
"Bring it here, big guy!" he shouted with a smile.
Growling playfully Toothless hit the ball back to him, watching it roll across the grass to him he came a little closer, crouching as he wagged his tail looking a bit like an over sized dog.
Scooping the tennis ball up he pulled his arm back and threw it across the yard again.
As it soared through the air Toothless ran excitedly after it.
Sonic laughed as his eyes followed the dog-like dragon across the yard.
Toothless was so happy to be playing with this tennis ball. He ran across the yard with happy roars, chasing it as it rolled around. He suddenly picked up the ball in his mouth and flopped onto his back, growling playfully as he rolled with it side to side in the soft grass.
The blue blur smirked and walked over, flopping down onto his back beside him.
Toothless turned his head to look at him as he did, ears perked forward, the tennis ball still in his mouth.
He chuckled and gently grabbed the slopper infested ball from his new friends mouth.
"Ewwww~!" he laughed and threw it away to the other side of the yard again.
Within a split second Toothless ran after the ball, rolling onto his feet and bounding across the yard.

~~Sunset~~

Sonic sat at the table for dinner, putting a bowl with cooked fish fingers in it on the ground for Toothless.
"Come and get it, Tooth!"
It didn't take long for the dragon to wake from his nap, the smell of fish was irresistible for him, and he ran over in a heart beat.
Sonic was hungrily munching on yet another batch of chillidogs, having sneakily thrown out the vegitables Tails had cooked up for him. The little foxling was still busy making Toothless' new fin to even notice, much to Sonic's relief.
Toothless on the other hand, sat happily with his meal eating all of it's contents.
Finishing his meal, Sonic leaned back in his chair, giving a satisfying belch that made the fox's hair stand on ends.
"Oi! What did I say about manners!" Tails yelled from the other room as Sonic grinned.
A burst of tiny growls emitted from the feasting dragon at Tail's reaction, sounding almost like laughter.
"Tails~! The mean dragons laughing at me~!" Sonic whined sarcastically as he grinned.
"Good!" was the foxlings answer.
This only made Toothless keep on laughing at the two of them, as if he knew exactly what was being said.
Sonic reached down, gently rubbing his head.
"Oh shush you giant lizard!" he chuckled, "Your as bad as Knuckles"
The nightfury cocked his head to the side, one ear forward and the other back, looking curious about this Knuckles he had mentioned.
"Speaking of which, I should give him a call. Hey Tails! Should I call Knuckles?" he called into the other room. Tails poked his head out.
"I actually already tried that. He's to busy"
"Watching that giant rock?"
"The Master Emerald"
"Yeah, watching that?"
"What do you think?"
Sonic grumbled something and waved Tails off so that the fox could go back to work.
"Guess your right"

Toothless stood up, and nudged Sonic with a purr, he then sat up looking at him.
Sonic gently rubbed behind the dragon's left ear.
"You tired, bud?" he said with a half yawn.
Giving a half roar half yawn was all Toothless said in response.
Sonic's muzzle wrinkled up with the stink of the yawn.
"Ewww~! Toothless! That stinks of fish!" he complained as he waved a hand in front of his nose to try and make it go away.
Toothless only seemed to grin a bit as his mouth closed.
"Come ere you!" Sonic smirked and chased him.
Roaring playfully Toothless ran into the back yard.
Sonic leaped out the door after him, playfully jumping onto the nightfury's back and hanging on.
"Yeehaw!"
Toothless growled playfully as he ran around the yard, running as fast as he could go, and bounding on every third step.
The hedgehog laughed as he kept a tight hold on the dragon.
"Can't buck me off~!"
Taking it as a challenge, Toothless seemed to smirk. He bounded more and more, higher and higher, until he finally caught Sonic off guard and had him flung into the grass.
"Whoa!" he rolled onto the grass as he laughed harder, getting up onto his knees in time to get his face licked.
Toothless stood in front of him, tail swishing as he licked his face again, nudging it gently after.
Tails giggled from the doorway.
"Come on you two. Time for bed"
"But muuuum~" Sonic smirked and got to his feet, making the fox giggle more.
"No buts. You have a big day tomorrow~" he grinned as he held up the new fin.
"You finished it? Already? Wow!" he walked over and ruffled the kit's head, "Good work, bro!"
Toothless came over quickly to see what all the excitement was about. He approached the fox and looked at the closed fin, sniffing it.
Tails opened it to show him the whole thing.
"See? Just like your other fin"
After a moment, Toothless brought his tail forward and spread his remaining fin out next to the thing in Tail's hands. When he saw it looked just like his fin, he looked excited.
"We'll put it on you tomorrow" he smiled and pet the dragon's head, "For now, the BOTH of you, need your rest. So go on~"
Sonic chuckled and shook his head.
"Come on, Toothless" he smiled and walked upstairs to his bedroom.
Toothless walked inside after Sonic, following him.
He opened the door to his room. He had car posters and posters of himself up on the wall. Above his bed was a poster of 'The Dark Knight' movie with the Joker. His blankets, quilts and pillow cases were of course of himself. How could it not be? He had a smaller pillow on his bed shaped like a ring which he set on the ground for Toothless, sitting on the bed and kicking his shoes off.
Toothless sniffed some of the stuff before becoming comfortable on the floor next to the bed.
Sonic smiled as he watched the dragon nuzzle into the ring pillow. He flopped down on the bed, snuggling under the covers.
"Goodnight, bud"
Toothless gave a small growl in response, before falling asleep with his tail curled around him.
The blue hedgehog smiled again, this time more sleepily. He clicked off the lamp on his bedside table, nuzzling down into the pillow as he fell asleep.

Falling into slumber, the nightfury on the floor started to dream. He was flying again, soaring above the clouds. Both of his tail fins were in tact again and he roared with happiness feeling free. He shot through the night sky, like shooting star, causing flocks of sheep to scatter in the fields. He looked down upon the ocean, looking for his next meal of fish when suddenly something was flung at him. He dodged quickly as he could, an angered roar coming from him as he dodged 2 more projectiles. He tried to find cover by flying into the woods, but dodged another projectile, and as he turned, was caught of guard and hit. He started falling our of the sky, faster and faster, letting out a panicked roar as he crashed , feeling something rip off of his tail and then- ...All went black.

"Bud! Hey! Wake up!" Sonic shook the dragon gently, "Your dreaming. Come on"
Toothless snapped his eye's open roaring in desperation before snapping out of it when he saw his friend there. He panted and purred as the hedgehog pet him gently.
He gently stroked his head, eyes sad.
"Must of been some dream. I could barely snap you out of it" he gave him a gentle scratch under the chin.
Toothless purred , lowering his head as he nudged sonic.
"Well now that were up" Sonic said with a smile and gave Toothless a gentle nuzzle back, "We might as well get a midnight snack before going back to sleep"
Toothless looked at him, perking up slightly.
He gave him a thumbs up, winking.
"Come on. Im sure we have some fish fingers left over in the fridge" he stood and opened the door for him, "We just need to keep quiet"
The nightfury noded and followed him quietly.
Sonic tip-toed downstairs to the kitchen.
Toothless followed him, being as quiet as possible. His tail swishing to different positions to help him keep his balance and stealth.
The hedgehog opened the fridge, putting the left over fish fingers in the oven to defrost as he grabbed the left over chillidog and heated that up too.
Toothless sat on the other side of the room, out of the hedgehogs way.
When the food was cooked Sonic set the plate of fish for the dragon and leaned against the bench to enjoy his chillidog.
Toothless walked over to the fish and happily gobbled the food down.
Sonic's ears twitched to Tails' lab, seeing the light on. After finishing his snack he walked over and peeked in, chuckling softly when he saw the fox asleep at his desk.
"Oh Tails"
Toothless looked up, half of the fish stick he had was hanging out of his mouth as he cocked his head sideways.
Sonic gently picked up his brother, careful not to wake him, as he took him upstairs.
Toothless followed him quietly once he had finished his fish.
The fox was gently laid on his nice warm bed, Sonic tucking him in as he smiled.
"Sweet dreams, bud" he walked out and gently shut the door behind him.
Sitting behind him Toothless purred.
Sonic gently scratched his head and walked back to the bedroom with him.
"Feeling better, big guy?"
Toothless laid down on the floor, his head on the ring pillow, giving a small growl in response.
The blue blur smirked and jumped onto his bed, snuggling into the blankets.
With a small purr Toothless nodded off to sleep.

~~Morning~~

Sonic groaned as he turned over in his sleep, getting nudged by the anxious dragon.
Toothless growled, excited, and licked the hedgehogs face, tail wagging slightly.
He woke as he laughed.
"Toothless~!"
The nightfury gave a warm hearted growl in response nudging him and gently tugging him.
Sonic smirked and pulled the blanket over himself.
"I wanna sleep more~"
With a playful growl Toothless snorted and grabbed the edge of the blanket pulling it off of him.
The hedgehog laughed and petted his snout.
"Okay! Okay! I'm up, mr bossy!"
Toothless lifted his head up smirking with what sounded like a laugh.
Sonic smiled and climbed out of bed.
"Go downstairs. I'll meet you there in a minute"
With an excited wag of his tail the nightfury bounded out the door and down the stairs, happily roaring.
Sonic chuckled and shook his head. He changed his socks and slid his shoes on, doing up the buckles before zipping downstairs.
Toothless had a fish hanging out of his mouth when he got there. And it looked fresh. It seemed the nightfury had gone fishing in a nearby pond before he had woken up.
This caused the hedgehog to chuckle again.
"Went fishin, did ya?"
Merely gulping down the rest of the fish he had gotten, Toothless licked his lips in response, looking satisfied.
"Tails! Tails bud where are ya?" He called as he walked into his lab. Seeing a note, he picked it up and skimmed over it, "ANOTHER science convention. Be back tonight. Good luck with Toothless" He sighed and put the note down. His spirits were lifted again as he grabbed the saddle and fin with some rope, "Hmm. He must of been working on this saddle last night. Hehe. Smart kid" he smiled and walked to the dragon, "All set if you're ready to go"
Toothless answered his question by running outside.
Sonic grinned and ran after him.
"This way, bud! Quickly!" he jogged off towards the edge of town.
With excited growls, Toothless bounded after Sonic, every now and again letting out a roar.
Sonic ignored the stares from the other people of the town, running beside the excited dragon as they went to the fields.
"Now~ Where is it?" he looked around, "Ah! There it is" he said as he walked up to a tree stump, tying the rope to it, "Come 'ere Tooth!" he grinned.
Toothless slowed down, walking over to him. He sniffed the sadle, his eyes big with curiosity.

He set the saddle on the nightfury's back, strapping it up gently.
"That looks about right. Now for the fin" he walked to Toothless' tail, kneeling by it as he strapped it up so it was half connected to his origonal fin so they moved simotaniously, "Give that a try, bud. Move your fin abit"
Looking at his tail, Toothless moved his fin, and his ears perked up when the other fin moved with it. He opened and closed them a few times, turning them side to side. He had two fins again!
As if on cue, a strong breeze blew across the field as Sonic smiled. He tied the rope to a ring on the saddle, quickling mounting the dragon.
"Lets see if this works!" he smirked and held onto the two rings on the front of the saddle, glancing back at Toothless' wings.
Toothless spread out his wings, and flapped a few times to go upwards, then, once he caught the breeze, he acted as though he were gliding, balancing himself with his new tail fin.
Sonic's eyes lit up as he laughed.
"Haha! Thats it!" he looked over his shoulder excitedly, looking at the new fin.
Roaring with pleasure, Toothless was managing to stay balanced just as he would have had he not lost his original fin.
Sonic punched the air as he cheered. But the cheer was short lived when the rope snapped and they tumbled back across the grass thanks to the strong gust of wind, "WHOA!"
Toothless gave a loud roar in surprise, tumbling backward into the grass. At fist he was a little stunned. But he was so happy that he could fly again, he rolled around in the grass, happy growls emitted from him, and his tail wagged as he rolled onto his back, nuzzling the grass with his face.
Sonic shook the bits of grass from his face, rolling onto his stomach as he looked over at the dragon with a smile.
The nightfury was happily rolling in the grass, purring contently.
Sonic walked over to him and playfully tackled him, laughing as they tumbled across the long grass.
Toothless got up and ran in the grass, playing chase.
The blue hedgehog did a terrible attempt at blending into the green grass as he got tackled with a playful yelp.
Toothless licked his friends face with a content growl, playfully nudging him onto his feet.
"HAHA! I get it! I get it!" he laughed and wiped the drool from his face.
Toothless gave a tiny roar, sitting up with big, happy eyes. His tail wagged softly and his ears were perked toward the hedgehog as he watched him stand again.
"Ready to try again, big guy?" he smiled, dusting himself off.
With a snort, the nightfury crouched to allow Sonic onto the saddle. He gave another growl, looking happy, and determined.
The hedgehog mounted Toothless with an excited grin.
"This time there's no rope. Think you can handle that now?"
Opening his wings, Toothless let out a roar as a fire ball left his mouth. He started to run, causing Sonic to grip the saddle tightly. Toothless began to flap his wings as he gained speed, then jumped into the air with unimaginable power. Letting out another roar, Toothless opened his tail fins, and moved them as he needed. The nightfury was flying again, and he flapped his wings again, climbing higher, and higher, till they were above the clouds.

A series of excited laughter escaped the blue blur as he used his legs to hang on to the dragon's sides, holding his hands in the air like a rollercoaster.
"YEAH!!!"
Giving a loud roar in time with him, Toothless let out another fireball. The tips of Toothless's wings touched the clouds as he glided, flapping every once in a while, feeling the breeze on his face again.
Sonic closed his eyes contently, his hands still not gripping the saddle as he smiled.
Toothless looked back at Sonic then, giving a growl that sounded mischievous.
"I don't think I like that smile~" Sonic smirked and gripped the saddle.
Toothless gave another roar, then with a mighty flap of his wings, they suddenly dove down. Toothless placed his wings by his sides, causing them to go even faster, soaring like a shooting star through the sky.
Sonic pressed his body against the saddle and the top of Toothless' head. His eyes widened a little as he looked at where they were heading, tapping the dragon's head.
"W-Watch out for the water, bud!"
Toothless didn't seem to hear him, the wind was too loud. Sonic could only manage time to hold his breath before Toothless dove into the water with a giant splash.
The hedgehog quickly locked his eyes shut, curling against the dragon.
'Great! I help him and he's gonna drown me! Oh chaos, he's gonna drown me!!' his mind raced in panic as he dared to open his left eye a little, ignoring the sting of the salt water.
Around them, a school of fish swam by, and the water glistened in the sunlight. Toothless managed to catch one of the fish in his mouth as he swam, bubbles of air escaping his mouth. Looking forward, fish in his mouth still, Toothless swam fast toward a rock. Bursting out of the water, Toothless climbed up onto the rock, shaking his wings dry.
The sudden sunlight made Sonic cringe more as he coughed up the bit of water in his lungs, a hand on his chest before he shook his head to get some water from his dampened quills.
Toothless gobbled the fish down, then looked back at Sonic with a soft purr.
"G-give me a few more minutes warning next time. K-Kay, bud?" he said in a quivering voice, patting the dragon's neck with a shaking hand.
Toothless cocked his head sideways a bit, he'd never seen the hedgehog this shaken up before. He gave a low purr in response before flying off of the rock into the air.
Sonic let out a deep breath to try and relax himself.
"S-Sorry bud...Im just not a big fan of the deep blue" he smiled weakly and gently scratched behind the dragons ear, "You didn't know. Its fine"
Seeming to understand, Toothless gave a growl in response nodding his head slightly. To give the hedgehog time to calm down, he calmly glided across the sky.
Slowly the blue hedgie's breathing calmed down and the rapid thoughts faded into memories. He relaxed on the nightfury's back again and slid forward abit to get back in the groove of the saddle.
"Okay, bud. I'm back" he smiled.
Toothless looked at him, giving a roar.
The cocky attitude immediatly returned to the hero as he gripped the handles of the saddle.
"Lets see what you've got!"
With another loud roar, Toothless excepted the challenge. He flew high into the air, past the cloud line. Then, just as before, with a powerful flap from his wings he dove down, roaring all the way. He sped faster and faster, towards the water. This time however, he pulled up shooting across the sky, spitting out a fireball.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!!" the rider laughed with the rush of it, eyes wide with joy "YEAH!! FASTER!!"
Toothless let out a happy roar, and with another mighty flap they went even faster, dodging rock formations around them with ease.
Once again the hedgehog pressed his stomach against the saddle, eyes darting around with excitement as he watched the scenery fly by.
Toothless flew faster and faster, and it felt to sonic as though it were himself running on air.
He slowly closed his eyes again, letting himself sit up as he let go of the saddle, relaxing into the wind.
After a while, Toothless darted into the woods, dodging the trees swiftly.
Sonic grinned and jumped from the dragon's back, keeping up on the ground.
"Think you can keep up~!"
Roaring, Toothless sped up his flight, flying after the blue blur below.
The hedgehog grinned from ear to ear at the dragon's speed. He sped up faster, close to making a sonic boom.
Toothless was managing to keep up with the hedgehog surprisingly enough, he shot out a fire ball when he saw a rock in his path and completely destroyed it in order to stay up to his speed.
Almost at the same time, the both of them hit into a sonic boom, the whole world becoming a blur around them.
The only sounds Sonic could hear was the wind and Toothless roaring in pleasure.
Sonic saw the cliff up ahead as he grinned. He didn't slow, he ran faster and faster until the end of his shoe reached the edge of the cliff, instantly he become a blue streak in the sky, arms spread wide and his quills flailing in the wind as he smiled, soaring over the forest.
Toothless roared to the sky, happily flying along side him. He flew under Sonic just then, catching him before he fell into a lake. He looked back at Sonic.
"Nice catch!" he smiled and held on, "We'd better head back. Tails would have come home by now" he said as he scratched the dragon's neck gently.
Toothless growled and turned, flapping his wings as he once again rose into the sky.
"You know, there was only one other person that could go as fast as me. But he used special shoes for it. You on the other hand are naturally as fast. Thanks for the challenge, bud" he grinned and reached over, using his knuckles to gently scratched Toothless' nose.
Toothless purred, and continued flying back to the house. They got there fairly quickly once Toothless sped up. He landed in the soft grass next to the house, and stretched out with a growl.

Sonic hopped off his back and stretched as well.
"Come on, bud" he smiled and walked inside with him.
Toothless shook out his wings and then followed the hedgehog, half bounding with each step.
Sure enough Tails was home. He was setting up the fish and chips he'd bought from up the road since he didn't feel like cooking lunch.
Toothless smelled the fish very quickly and ran inside, roaring excitedly.
He bowled Sonic over, leaving the hedgehog pushed face first into the soft carpet.
"EH!"
Looking back and stopping suddenly, Toothless looked at the hedgehog, ears forward with a purr.
Sonic pulled himself from the carpet, rubbing his sore nose with a chuckle.
"Its alright, bud" he smiled.
Toothless gave a happy growl in response, and without having to move, helped Sonic to his feet with his tail.
Sonic chuckled and patted his tail once back on his feet.
"Thanks, Tooth!"
Toothless purred in response, then remembered the fish and ran after the smell, perking his ears up with a roar.
Tails giggled when the dragon bounded in. He motioned to the metal dog bowl that had the cooked fish in it.
"There you go, Toothless. See? The bowl even has your name on it"
Toothless looked at the bowl, examining the letters. He then nuzzled the fox, giving him a lick before chowing down on the fish the bowl contained.
"Your welcome" Miles smiled and sat at the table on the other side of where Sonic had seated and was already eating the chips.
It wasn't terribly long until the nightfury finished his fish, munching the last piece he purred, satisfied.
Sonic was telling his friend all about the small adventure him and Toothless had just had, the fox smiling at Sonic's excitment.
"And he went just as fast as I did! Almost faster!"
The nightfury looked at the fox and hedgehog at the table, laying down on the kitchen floor as he listened.
"He really went as fast as you? Whoa! I didn't think it was possible!" Tails smiled, "I have to see this in action!"
Sonic looked down at Toothless and smiled.
"Sure thing. Whenever Tooth is ready."
Toothless perked his ears forward at the mention of flying again.
"How about after I finish lunch we'll show Tails what you can do?" he smiled and reached out to pet the dragon's head.
Toothless growled in response, nuzzling into the hedgehogs hand.

Sooner then usual, Sonic finished his lunch and dashed outside in a blur, waiting for Tails and Toothless.
Toothless ran out after him pretty quickly, giving an excited roar.
Sonic was tackled by the dragon as he got a big lick on the face.
"HAHA! Get off you overgrown newt!" he laughed.
Toothless gave a happy growl and sat in front of Sonic with big eyes.
Sonic leaned back and pushed himself skillfully onto his feet in a leap.
Standing up the dragon stretched his wings a bit, eager to fly.
The hedgehog mounted onto the dragon as Tails sat on the porch.
"Ready when you are bud~"
Toothless gave a loud roar before jumping into the air, his wings gave a powerful flap and they shot into the air.
Tails held up his watch as it measured how fast they were going.
"Whoa!"
Sonic pressed his stomach against the dragon, laughing as he spurred the nightfury on.
Toothless spread his wings wide when they were above the clouds, then with another mighty roar, he flapped them down hard, spitting out a fire ball as they raced out of the sky.
The fox's eyes widened at the fireball as he ran over to see where it had singed the ground.
"Wow!"
Toothless flew down fast, and just before he hit the ground he quickly rose up, doing a backward flip before landing beside the fox.
"Haha~! How was that, Tails?" Sonic smirked and jumped off the dragon's back.
"Your so fast!" Tails grinned and petted the dragon's nose.
Toothless purred, then gave a roar, spreading his wings. It was almost as if he were being cocky and saying 'of course I am!'.
Tails giggled and looked back at the scorched ground.
"Your fire wasn't orange like it should be. It was sort of purple and in a ball. Could you do it again?"
Toothless looked at the fox, and swished his tail sideways before throwing his head forward and shooting off another fire ball into some trees. The damaged it caused was surprising as a few tree's were cut down and all of the trees in it's path were burned. Once it hit the ground, lightning seemed to jump from the fire.
"Lightning AND fire? Mixed together? Amazing!" the fox exclaimed in wonder, going over to inspect the damage.
Toothless merely folded his wings back, watching as Tails ran to look.
Sonic chuckled and patted the dragon's back.
"He's easily facinated in stuff like this"
The dragon watched as the fox came back, a skip in his step.
He had a little container with some ash in it for analizing later. Without another word he ran inside to play with his little toys. Sonic chuckled and pet Toothless' nose.
"See? Easily fascinated"
Toothless looked at the hedgehog, seeming to laugh a little himself.
Sonic smiled and walked inside with him.
"Come on, Tooth"
Following him, the nightfury growled happily, looking at the forest for a moment before walking inside.
Sonic noticed the slight sad look when he'd glanced at the forest as he smiled slightly, shutting the door behind Toothless.
"Come here bud" he said softly and sat on the couch.
Toothless walked over to the hedgehog, nudging him with his nose. He then licked him.
He gently ran his gloved hand over the nightfury's head as he smiled a little more.
"Do you want to go back to the forest? Your free to visit here of course"
Toothless perked his ears forward, his tail wagged slightly with a ourr and he licked Sonic again.
Sonic gave a chuckle and gently pushed him off.
"Don't cover me in drool, bud" he smiled.
Toothless looked at him with a purr.
Sonic smiled a little more and looked back over the couch, Miles standing at the doorway to the kitchen, grinning kindly at them.
"Im going to go take Toothless back home. Be back soon, bud" the hedgehog stood up and walked outside with him.
Toothless walked out with the hedgehog, staying by his side.
Sonic mounted the nightfury as they took off.
Toothless flew swiftly through the sky, giving an occasional roar of pleasure.
The hedgehog gently stroked his neck.
"Land whenever you want" he smiled as they flew over the forest.
After a while, the dragon finally found his spot. The tree he had first met Sonic at a few days ago. He circled in the air for a minute before finally landing, crouching as he did to let Sonic off if his back.
Sonic jumped off his back, patting his head before unhitching the saddle.
Toothless watched as Sonic took the saddle an placed it on the ground. He gently nudged the hedgehogs hand, receiving a pat on the nose as he purred.
Sonic gently kicked the saddle under some rocks to protect it from the rain.
"We'll keep it here. So if you ever want to catch up, just bring it to me" he chuckled and looked around, "Its not so easy for me to find you"
Toothless looked at sonic a moment, and seemed to point at him with his tail. He then looked up at the sky and roared, looking back down at Sonic, he perked his ears forward, then looked up again and shot a fire ball high into the sky. It was like the dragon was trying to tell him he could call if he needed him. And if Toothless didn't know where he was, he would shoot a fireball to signal where he was.
The hedgehog gave a sad smirk and gave his muzzle another gentle rub.
"I'll try to visit. Kay bud?"
Toothless nuzzled Sonic with a purr, giving him a small lick on the cheek.
"Hehe" he chuckled and gently scratched under his neck before starting to walk off with a wave, "See ya Toothless~!" he grinned with his trademark thumbs up before zooming off in a cloud of dust.
Toothless watched him leave until the dust settled and he was completely out of sight. He slowly walked over to the tree, next to where his saddle was. Nudging the saddle lightly, and putting it in a different position, Toothless laid his head on it with a soft purr. He wouldn't have been able to live in that small house, and he loved the forest... Yet he still felt a small amount of sadness as it started to rain.

~~3 Months later~~

Two bright lights streaked through the cloudy night sky, shouting at each other. One trying to convince the other to stop while the other urged it on. A loud BOOM was heard, making Toothless look up from his deep sleep.
He perked his ears forward, eyes wide as he searched for the source of the commotion.
The two lights circled each other before they smashed into each other again and again 5 times, circling once more before they slammed into each other so hard another loud CRACK and BOOM sounded.
Toothless watched the lights dance, they looked like nightfuries in battle except they were gold. He growled slightly, intrigued.
He could roughly make out the upward pointing quills on the glowing hedgehog that was flighting a similar one with stripes.
"Stop this Shadow! Eggman's USING you!" Super Sonic shouted as they slammed into each other again, making blood trickle out the side of his mouth from the punch.
"I don't need advice from the likes of you, Faker!" Shadow, the enemy, grinned and flew at him, driving his powered fist deep into the hedgehog's stomach.
"GAH!! SHADOW!!!" Sonic practically screamed as more blood dribbled out his mouth from the impact of the super sonic punch. The second Shadow removed his fist the hedgehog dropped like a stone, headfirst as he stopped glowing.
Now that the glow had left him, Toothless could see the blue hedgehog clearly. Toothless wasted no time, he jumped up quickly and shot over the night sky like a speeding bullet. He ran into Shadow who was only in his way, and dived down quickly after Sonic.
"What the?!" the streaked hedgehog blinked.
Sonic crashed into the water limply, sinking just as fast as he had fallen.
With a loud roar the nightfury dove into the water after his fallen friend. He swooped underneath him, using pure speed from his dive to burst out of the water with the hedgehog on his back.
He set his rider down, panicking when he saw he wasn't breathing.
Toothless roared, and pressed a paw onto Sonic, only meaning to try to wake him. He jumped back a bit when he saw the hedgehog cough with water he had helped force out of his lungs. The dragon purred and nudged him.
The shivering hedgehog coughed up the water heavily, shivering as he looked up at the dragon with a smile.
"T-Tooth..!"

Toothless perked his ears forwards and gave a happy growl. He then carefully walked around Sonic, spitting out fire to keep him warm, and dry him off. He sat next to the hedgehog and licked his cheek.
Sonic purred a little at the warmth of the fire. He leaned against the dragon and smiled up at him.
"How i-ironic. I helped you. Now YOUR helpin me" he said in a quivering voice, chuckling softly when Toothless draped his wing around his shivering frame.
The nightfury growled in response, and laid down to give Sonic more warmth. He curled his tail around him, draping it over the hedgehog like a blanket along with his wing.
Feeling safe and warm, the hedgie tucked his legs up and with a small shiver he let himself fall asleep against the nightfury.
Toothless watched over his friend all night. Always staying alert so that if her had to, he could protect the injured hedgehog.
Sonic tossed a bit in his sleep every now and then but was calmed down with a gentle nuzzle.
The nightfury gave a soft growl as he calmed his friend.

When Sonic opened his eyes the next morning he was greeted by the sound of his friend, getting a big lick to the face.
Toothless purred, and nudged the hedgehogs hand lightly, earning a rub under the chin.
"I don't believe I ordered a wake up call~" he smiled sleepily and slowly sat up with a stretch and a yawn.
Toothless stood up and stretched with a half roar half yawn.
"Well at least I didn't get the morning breath" Sonic chuckled and got to his feet slowly.
Toothless looked at Sonic, glad to see he wasn't as injured as the first time they had met. It seemed that the worst had come out of the battle with were a few scratches.
He still looked a bit wobbly on his feet. Probably from the shock of the punch before. He did have a bruise there after all.
Toothless walked over to him, letting him place his hand on his back for support.
"Th-thanks buddy" he smiled softly and opened and closed his hand for a small scratch of the dragon's back. He took a few steps with him but grunted and fell forward.
Toothless quickly caught him by lowering his head.
"Heh. Thanks, bud. Just abit w-weak thats all" he said with a reasurring grin.
Toothless gave a small purr, helping him to his feet.
He gently stroked his dragon's head as they started walking through the forest towards Tails' house.
Toothless kept the hedgehog on his feet the whole way, balancing him whenever he needed it.
They saw the house up ahead as Sonic smiled.
"A-almost there"
With little trouble, Toothless managed to get Sonic to the door. He waited as Sonic twisted the door nob before helping him limp inside.
Tails saw them as he rushed over, wrapping an arm around Sonic and helping him to the couch.
"Wh-what happened?!"
"Urg..Sh-Shadow...and me had a..fight...Tooth saved me after I fell in the river..." he smirked at the dragon greatfully.
Giving a small growl in response Toothless licked Sonic's cheek and sat beside the couch.
The hedgehog let Tooth rest his head on his lap, smiling a little more as Tails came in with a cup of coffee to warm him up more.
"Th-thanks bro" he grinned and took it in his cold hands, keeping it cupped there as he took a small sip.
Toothless let Sonic rest the mug on his head. His scales preventing him from feeling any sort of burn.
A small chuckle came from the hedgie.
"Thanks, Tooth"
With a small purr the dragon replied, perking his ears up.
"You should rest, Sonic. Here" he placed a pillow on one end of the couch, gently helping Sonic lay down.
Toothless curled up, his head still on the couch as he went to sleep. The nightfury had been up all night watching over his friend and he didn't need to be persuaded to sleep.
Sonic laid his hand down on the dragon's head gently.
"Thanks again, Toothless" he smiled sleepily before drifting to sleep.
